Essex Lion Plate

Katie Spragg's wonderful plate was made in Stoke on Trent with Katie’s illustrations applied in her London studio.

Katie’s collection is inspired by the bizarre behaviour of urban wildlife, taken from stories found in the Metro newspaper. This Bone China Plate features the story of the 'Lion' spotted in Essex in the Summer of 2012. A couple on holiday reported to the police seeing a lion walking loose in the park. After two days of intensive search, it was decided that it was in fact a large pet cat, claimed to by a local woman to be her pet; Teddy Bear.
